The first day of the Free Wing Wingfoil World Games has begun with a cold breeze from the south direction. The competitors were divided into 3 groups plus 1 separate group for the women. The wind was constantly blowing at about 11-12 knots and after 3 races the committee decided to give the riders a short break. Provisional results bring Mathis Ghio and Florian Gruber at the top with equal points. In the third place, we find the local Riccardo Zorzi.
In the women group, France is leading with 3 athletes. In the first place, we find Olivia Piana followed by Orane Ceris and Marion Mattia.
During the break, the wind was increasing and reaching 20-25 knots still from the same direction.
With 3 more races, the provisional podium has changed completely. In the man group is leading the first day Balz Mueller from Switzerland followed by Mathis Ghio from France and Alessandro Jose Tomasi from Italy.
The women fleet has completed 3 more races as well. Olivia Piana from France is leading followed by Orane Ceris from France and Maddalena Maria Spanu from Italy.

Tomorrow the start is planned at 9:00 to catch the strong north wind forecasted.
