Campione del Garda, October 17, 2024 – The first day of the FX Open Series in Campione del Garda delivered exhilarating action, with the young sailors battling it out across four races. The conditions were favorable, with steady winds allowing for a full day of competition. As the sun set over the stunning Lake Garda, the leaderboard began to take shape.

Early Leaders Emerge
Topping the leaderboard after Day 1 is the Swiss duo, Alexis Pariat and Nicolas Comby (SUI 699) from Club Nautique Morgien and Club Nautique Pully, finishing the day with a total of 17 points. Their performance was consistent, securing a first-place finish in the opening race, followed by fourth, seventh, and fifth places in the remaining races.

Close Competition
Right on their heels are the Italian team Alex Demurtas and Giovanni Santi (201) from Fraglia Vela Riva and Società Canottieri Garda Salo, tied at 19 points. Despite a challenging start with an 11th place in Race 1, they stormed back to win the second race and delivered strong finishes in the third and fourth races, keeping them within striking distance of the leaders.

The Czech pair Lukas Kraus and Ondrej Bastar (FIN 40) also finished the day with 19 points, thanks to a victory in Race 3 and solid results in the others, putting them in a tight battle for the top spots.

Strong Performances Across the Fleet
In fourth place with 21 points are Alja Petri? and Tarin Pe?ar (SLO 818) from Jadro Koper, while the Swiss team Sophie Studer and Shana Burger (SUI 212) are in fifth with 27 points.

Several other teams remain in contention, including Simon Mille and Samuel Berther (SUI 818) in sixth place and Livia Naef and Mirjam Abegglen (IND 456) tied for seventh, both with 32 points.

As the competition continues, every point will matter, with the fleet aiming to gain valuable ground on the leaderboard. With more racing scheduled for the upcoming days, the young sailors will have ample opportunities to showcase their talents and push for podium positions.
