sAIL Camp: rehabilitation project for onco-haematological patients 3
Event Start: sabato, 24 settembre 2022
Event End: domenica, 25 settembre 2022
In partnership with Associazione italiana contro le leucemie-linfomi e mieloma - Brescia
sAIL Camp is the first step on a journey that, starting from listening to oneself in a context in which it is possible to face new challenges, accompanies the onco-haematological patients to a personal and social rediscovery.
The opportunity to live 2 days in contact with nature, taking walks, a sailing course, psychological workshops and food training is a tool for regaining confidence and the hope of getting out of the dark period we are experiencing.
The 10 people who will participate in this project will be welcomed by a doctor, a nurse and a psychologist, who will establish relationships of trust and complicity with them.
Thus, from sharing the time spent together, the feeling of being in the family, the security of not being alone and rediscovering how strong one's resources are to deal with the disease are born.
Within this therapeutic framework, more than in other health care paths, rehabilitation means recovering the sense of control and mastery over one's history and one's life project; it means returning to be at the helm of one's own existence.
Trauma is not the end, the scars created by pain and suffering can become precious textures thanks to resilience, coming out enriched by adversity, continuing to invest in the present and in the future.
It is not a question of "simply" resisting, but of building a new balance by discovering other interpretations and a renewed inner strength.
Who is the sAIL Camp for?
To Patients in the Oncology, Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant wards.
To the Healthcare Team.
The objectives
The main objective of the project is to promote a rehabilitation process for onco-haematological patients to return to feeling good in everyday life, reinforcing the sense of mastery, autonomy and self-efficacy through:
an opportunity to start returning to normal at your own pace and in your own ways
a context in which to enter into a relationship with oneself and with one's own experience
an opportunity to interact with others
a moment of leisure within a suggestive natural setting
The program
We will depart from Brescia to arrive in Campione del Garda and discover this little corner of Paradise where the Patients will stay for 3 days. There will be several activities in which they will be the protagonists: from watching a film with subsequent discussion, training moments on the right diet during the treatment period, going out on a boat with an afternoon sailing course, walking in contact with nature, re-appropriation of the personal pace and much more.
